This very attractive, recently constructed Cotswold stone house
makes a wonderful base for a family or group of friends. Birch
House is quietly situated, just five minutes' stroll from the centre
of this popular market town and is ideally placed if you like to
go out for a meal and do not want the worry of having to drive.
The house catches both the morning and evening sunshine and enjoys
the benefit of a double aspect in several of the very pleasant
rooms hence has a light and airy feel.
A small lawned garden at the front and a patio at the rear of
the house with table and chairs provide pleasant outside spaces
for you to sit and enjoy a drink or barbecue. A table tennis table
is provided for those who like to test their skills and a colour
TV in each bedroom as well as the sitting room ensures the programme
of your choice! The spacious kitchen dining room has a superb
dining table perfect for a celebration meal and the charming and
comfortable sitting room also has a bed sofa for the occasional
extra one or two persons allowing a maximum of 10 guests. Birch
House is super for a family get together all year round with a
wide choice of many excellent restaurants on the doorstep and fabulous
walks leading around the town and to nearby villages. This is a
beautifully presented and very well equipped property from which
to enjoy your stay in this lovely area.
Stow on the Wold is known as the highest village in the Cotswolds
and offers much to the discerning visitor, it also has many other
attractive villages a few minutes drive away and well worth a visit
including: Upper and Lower Slaughter, The Swells, The Oddingtons,
Bourton on the Water (here you will find Birdland, The Motor Museum,
The Perfumery, The Model Village); Burford (The Cotswold Wildlife
Park is here), The Guitings (The Cotswold Farm Park is close by);
Chipping Campden with its beautiful High Street and splendid architecture
(close by are Hidcote Gardens, National Trust). Snowshill with
the wonderful Lavender Farm close by and Snowshill Manor (National
Trust.) Many of these attractive villages also have excellent pubs/restaurants – too
many to list here.
Stow is excellent from which to explore the whole region and it
is an easy drive to Stratford on Avon, Oxford and Cheltenham.
Nearest rail station is Moreton in Marsh (6 miles) Paddington,
London / Hereford line. Airport Birmingham, approx one hour.
