River Cottage. Duntisbourne Rouse, Nr Cirencester.
Sleeps 4 - Prop No C038 ETC 5 Star Rating
River Cottage can be opened up with adjoining Swallow
Barn (037) to provide accommodation for up to 10 persons.
This super barn conversion is ideal for 3 or 4 friends or a small
family. It has been thoughtfully furnished and equipped to make
your stay comfortable and relaxing.
The cottage has its own private and sheltered garden with table
and chairs to sit outside. If you have children with you, they can
have fun playing in the mown area set aside especially for them
to play. Footpaths abound from your door, but if you simply want
to sit back and relax, this is the perfect place.
River Cottage is situated in a peaceful and attractive location,
yet just a short drive to the bustling market town of Cirencester
with its range of traditional and speciality shops. Here you will
find a twice weekly (Mondays and Fridays) open air market in the
centre and on Saturdays the Corn Hall hosts craft markets; collectors
will also enjoy the weekly antiques market. Activities in the town
include tennis courts, a putting green, crazy golf, and an adventure
playground within St Michaels Park, a 7 acres landscaped park. If
you are interested in history, The Corinium Museum houses one of
the finest collections of antiquities from Roman Britain and a little
further away at Chedworth is the Roman Villa (National Trust). Close
to Cirencester is the Cotswold Water Park and here you will find
many water sports to enjoy, or you can simply take a walk around
the nature reserves.
Well worth a visit is the Westonbert Arboretum near Tetbury. This
is an easy drive from the cottage and there are wonderful walks
alongside some of the finest trees in the country.
